JANUARY 2020
Native Peruvian Sarela and her husband Matt co-founded SIMPLi to simplify complicated supply chains and create greater transparency, prioritize authentic single-origin ingredients, and support farming communities through sustainable and fair labor practices.
FEBRUARY 2020
SIMPLi debuted its inaugural product: quinoa directly sourced from indigenous farmers in Peru who were not reaping the economic rewards of increasing demand for this product.


MARCH 2020
When the pandemic hit and restaurants shut their doors, Matt and Sarela quickly pivoted from foodservice to retail, e-commerce, and meal kits to meet customers where they were during unprecedented times.
2021
SIMPLi launched its first Regenerative Organic Certified retail products—white and tri-color quinoa—at and continued adding incredible quality ingredients from around the world to its portfolio. SIMPLi quickly expanded into over 500 grocery stores, 1,000+ restaurants, and numerous prepared meals and online marketplaces nationwide.


2022
SIMPLi launched 3 new retail products: Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Olive Oil Blend at Whole Foods Market, and Peruvian Salts in time for the holidays. In late 2022, Sarela was appointed to the board of directors of Regenerative Organic Alliance, the 501(c)3 organization that oversees the Regenerative Organic Certification process, solidifying her leadership in the industry.PRESENT
SIMPLi launched 7 new Regenerative Organic Certified® products, including a new line of 5 heirloom beans that are available nationwide at Whole Foods Market! Each day, SIMPLi's global footprint and impact grow as we work towards transforming our food system into one that's better for people, for the planet, and for producers.
