Baltimore, MD (November 28, 2022) - SIMPLi is proud to announce that co-founder Sarela Herrada has joined the board of directors at the Regenerative Organic Alliance (ROA).
Sarela has been a longtime proponent of regenerative and organic agricultural practices, and has also long understood the injustices faced by smallholder farmers who are hampered by, among many challenges, a lack of access to broader markets. She was born and raised in Lima, Peru, and after moving to the U.S., embarked on a supply chain and food management career with an eye toward creating a fairer and more just food system.
Through SIMPLi, Sarela brought the first Regenerative Organic Certified ® ingredients from Peru to the U.S. market. In 2020, she and partner Matt Cohen co-founded SIMPLi with a shared vision to transform our food system through ethical sourcing that inspires consumers, respects producers, and heals the planet. They are dedicated to Regenerative Organic Certification, with several SIMPLi products already carrying the seal. Now, SIMPLi is on track to have the largest portfolio of Regenerative Organic Certified® ingredients of any brand by early 2023.
