There’s a lot that goes into product packaging & its design - from functionality to materials to storytelling, packaging plays a huge role in not only preserving and storing products, but also in conveying a brand’s story, mission, and purpose. Using packaging as a vessel to tell these stories and help educate consumers on the source of their food while prioritizing more sustainable materials is a powerful tool for connection, communication, and change.
When designing our product packaging at SIMPLi, we knew we wanted it to accomplish three things: use sustainable materials, protect the quality of our ingredients, and highlight the source of where these ingredients are grown. From using time-honored materials to showcasing the beautiful landscapes where our products hail from, we aim to transport you around the world and bring authentic flavors and stories directly to your kitchen – all while being gentle on our planet, too.
We source fresh pantry staple ingredients from around the world, and preserving their flavor and freshness through thoughtful packaging is fundamental for us. From our kraft bags inspired by the ones at your local farmer’s market, to our olive oil and salt tins that have been used for centuries, each element of our packaging is meticulously crafted to transform our ingredients into more than just a product in your pantry, but a visual and sensory journey from farm to table.
Preservation of Flavor and Quality
Olive oil is highly sensitive to light, heat, and oxygen, which can degrade its quality over time. Tins offer superior protection against these elements compared to clear glass or plastic containers. By keeping light and air out, tins help maintain the oil's freshness, flavor, and nutritional value for a longer period.
Sustainability
Tins are an environmentally friendly choice for packaging olive oil. They are more easily recyclable than plastic, reducing waste and the need for single-use plastics. Additionally, tins are lightweight and durable, requiring less energy to transport and are less likely to break, further reducing their environmental footprint.
Tradition and Craftsmanship
Using tins for our olive oil connects us to traditional methods of olive oil storage used for centuries across the Mediterranean. Honoring the history of this prized ingredient adds to the charm and authenticity of our product while ensuring that we are using a time-tested method to keep our olive oil in optimal condition.Design
We designed our olive oil tins to represent the beautiful groves where our olives are grown and harvested, reflecting the nature of this product, its flavor, and the tradition it represents. Each tin tells a story of the land and the care taken to produce our exceptional olive oil, connecting our customers to the source and the rich heritage behind it.
Improved Opening & Pouring Experience
Recently, we updated our olive oil tins to include more user-friendly caps, enhancing the consumer experience by making our oils even easier to open and enjoy.
By choosing tins, we ensure that our olive oil stays fresh and flavorful while minimizing our environmental impact. We are dedicated to providing high-quality products that embrace tradition and sustainability, bringing craftsmanship and cultural heritage to your kitchen.
